Sheergrace Foundation took off as a personal effort by Anietie Usen, the founder, to help underprivileged youths especially orphans achieve their academic goals and dreams. Anietie grew up as an orphan under the palm trees in a remote village with his aged grandmother and was able to attain every level of his education from primary to tertiary institutions through charitable individuals. His growing up challenges placed him squarely and strategically in a vantage position to empathize and understand the plight of orphans and other underprivileged children in the society. This challenging growing-up experience eventually metamorphosed into his passion for the wellbeing of the poor.
In 2005, Anietie registered Anietie Usen Foundation with the Akwa Ibom State government and struck a partnership with ECEWS, a leading NGO in Nigeria to train 50 underprivileged children in secondary and tertiary institutions.The number rose to 65 the following year.
In the process, Anietie decided to depersonalize the program and opted for SHEERGRACE FOUNDATION which he registered with the federal government’s Corporate Affairs Commission in 2011 as a Christian Education Charity, NGO.
